Improved livelihoods through commercialized Bio Char & Briquette production among the youths in Wakiso district.

The project improves Youths livelihoods through providing skills and knowledge of Bio Char production and briquette production and marketing to youths in Wakiso district so as they could, sustainably produce and market the bio char and briquette products hence increasing on their incomes.
The project creates new employment opportunities to fight unemployment and empower youth for gender mainstreaming, financing and livelihood improvement and thus fight poverty amongst the youths and reduce rural – urban migration, enhance security and improves standards of living for the younger generation in Wakiso district.
Youth are exposed to environmentally sound ways for undertaking sustainable agriculture, reduced level of pollution and degradation of the environment. Engaging youth in briquette production, it will help in recycling waste and reduction of cutting down trees for charcoal production and therefore saving trees in Wakiso.

  • Integrated Natural resources management.
  • Use of energy saving technologies.
    Intensive compound gardening techniques.
  • Appropriate post harvest handling.
    Integrated pest and disease management.
  • Soil and water conservation.
